The easiest way to read a model number from 1990-2006 is to start by breaking down the number. The chart below has spaces for you to do so. Please note not all saddles will have the full 14 digits, formats varied.

**Month and year were often switched, and could be placed before or after the unique identifier.
Here, our example saddle is a 1265 model with a regular tree and 15" seat. It is in regular oil. It was built in July of 2001. The unique ID is 77 (this number does not have an assigned meaning).
These numbers vary greatly, for accurate information we recommend an Authentication Certificate. The format can be broken down as shown in the chart below, spaces have been left for you to copy the format.
Here, our example saddle is a 227 model with a 14" seat, built during June of 1977.
An Authentication Certificate for information on these saddles, they will have a single 1-2 digit number stamped into the leather, this is a unique identifier that will need to be researched.
